Welcome to my website.
I’ve been a self-employed New York-based personal finance columnist and business reporter for over 20 years. On this site, you’ll find a few of my favorites among the many hundreds of articles and columns I’ve written.
I'm currently Newsday's weekly 'Ask the Expert' personal finance columnist, a Reuters contributor, and a contributing editor to AARP the Magazine.
My work has appeared in print publications- everything from the New York Times, BusinessWeek, Newsday, Working Woman, Parade, and Martha Stewart Living to CFO, Bloomberg Wealth Manager, and Global Investor - as well as in online publications including CBS moneywatch.com, investmentnews.com, and AARP Bulletin. (For a full list of the newspapers, magazines, and websites I’ve written for, please see my LinkedIn profile).
My award-winning ‘Family Finance’ column ran in Newsday every Sunday from 1990 through 2008. I now write Family Finance online @ www.lynnbrennersfamilyfinance.com.
I’m also the author of several books, including Smart Questions to Ask Your Financial Advisers, (a Small Press award winner) and Building Your Nest Egg with Your 401(k).
I have been interviewed numerous times on television (CNBC, CNN-FN, Fox, WNET) and on National Public Radio as an expert on personal finance.
I’m a native New Yorker, a diehard NY Mets fan, and a passionate theater lover. My favorite writer, first, last and always, is William Shakespeare.
